Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance for patient consultations and follow up appointments. There are options to use your insurance for labs and diagnostics, however some specialty testing is not covered by insurance. This will be explained on an individual basis at your appointment.

Why don’t you take insurance?

This is the standard for Functional Medicine. I do not follow the concept of seeing as many patients I can in one day while being fixed to the computer during the our entire visit. I do not want any insurance company to dictate how much time I can have with you. I also choose to spend my extra time researching new knowledge and gaining new skills to share with you and your health endeavors.

What payment methods do you take?

I accept cash, check, and all credit cards. Health Savings Accounts may also be used for payment.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 48 hour notice for cancellations. Because I schedule more time with each person, when someone cancels, it creates a large hole in the day when someone else could have received care. 48 hours allows me time to treat someone else.

Can you be my primary care provider?

I will make every effort to help you with your medical conditions, but do not provide many of the services a designated PCP offers.

Do you offer telehealth services?

Yes. Online or phone consultations are available. Please let us know if this is something you desire.

Am I responsible for obtaining outside health records?

Yes. I ask that you please bring these records in at our appointment for review. You will also be responsible for completing appropriate patient forms, questionnaires, and consents as needed.
